Sarana

Sarana leaves are a popular, nutritious leafy green in Sri Lanka, known for their diuretic properties, often cooked with dhal or potatoes, and identified scientifically as Trianthema portulacastrum (Hogweed/Horse Purslane) or sometimes related to Boerhavia diffusa (Punarnava), used in traditional dishes like Mellum or tempered (Temparadu), and are valued for kidney health and as a general vegetable.
